I wanted to take a break from First Timothy. So I asked the question at the beginning of this week, “What is a product that did not live up to its advertisement.”
This blog is here for us to use as a tool to stay connected to God’s Word during the school year. We will spend time reading it, and discussing it, and applying its truth to our lives. May God use this corner of the internet to help us to hold firmly to his promises when we are discouraged, and to support each other during the days ahead.

Joel will try to put up a new post each week on Sundays. Then, you guys can answer the questions for yourself and weigh in on each other’s answers.
You should participate by posting comments. It will help build momentum, and create a full conversation if you try to post something between Sunday and Wednesday.
Joel will be online on Wednesday evenings. If you want to have a more of an instant interaction, you could set time aside on Wednesday nights as well. Don't forget to refresh the page often. :-)
Justin will be posting devotions for you as well. When they are put up, share them on Facebook or Twitter. :)

Soulful Materialism?
I wanted to take a break from First Timothy. So I asked the question at the beginning of this week, “What is a product that did not live up to its advertisement.”

ReplyDeleteGod blesses us in so many countless ways we can't keep track of them all. He has given all of us material possessions and we don't always use them the way He wants us to. I believe God gives us these things to glorify him. How can we do that? By sharing them with others. Perhaps you get to drive a car to school and your neighbor who goes to your school can't afford another car, so he has to take the bus. You can take him to school and bring him back so he doesn't have to wait for a school bus. Maybe you're that kid with a smart phone and the other kid has a "dumb phone", he really needs to send an email to a teacher but doesn't have access to the internet. Let him borrow your phone to send that email. One more example. You're at McDonald's and your friend doesn't have money. Offer to buy his/her meal, and tell them they don't need to pay you back. You're happy to do it because God has blessed you with some spending money on McDonald's. Share your blessings with others, it's an easy way to point to your Savior.
